The Feast of Assumption…
is an annual four-day Catholic and Italian American street festival that takes over the Little Italy neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, centered on Holy Rosary Church on Mayfield Road near its intersection with Murray Hill Road. Held annually since 1898, “The Feast”, as the locals call it, celebrates the assumption of the Virgin Mary. But, if we’re being honest, for 95% of the attendees over the course of the festival; it’s about the food. For me, it was about the characters that swarm the span of a few blocks toward the end of summer.
